Body sensations can arise due to a multitude of different factors.
Stress, weakness, overuse, injury, underlying medical conditions and emotional buildup can all attribute to feelings of unease in the body.
When we start to feel feelings of discomfort, it can lead to an amazing opportunity to check in with ourselves. However, more often than not, we ignore our bodies cries for help. We push through any pain we feel and suppress this voice of deep intelligence.
What if we took a moment to tap into these sensations? To recognize the weeping of our systems. To validate the feelings within us as if they are a small child yearning to be seen.
What does “tapping in” even mean? To tap in to yourself is to direct your attention to your internal world. The internal world consists of many fractals of what make up who you are. From your feelings and beliefs to your thoughts and anatomy.
To turn your attention inward is as simple as closing your eyes (AKA making the external world disappear). As you shut down your eyes, you can begin to tune into your breath as you breathe normally. Gradually deepening each inhale and exhale. Taking time to slow down.
When you find a point where you are relaxed, this is the time you can tune into the voices of your body. Where can you sense tension, pain, or restriction? Direct your focus to each body part, listening to its’ cries. There is no need to try to change anything in the moment. This is the time to just listen. Continue scanning your whole body from top to bottom, taking note of it’s sensations. Apologizing and sending love to each nook and cranny. As you come to completion, thank yourself for showing up and doing the work needed to take the next steps towards living a pain free life!
If you'd like to take a further step into tuning into yourself and relieving your pain, book a session with us!
